Sometimes we’re able to hide our true emotions, sometimes we’re not. How much do we really know about someone? Stepping into someone’s backyard has this exact essence, its saying that at first glance, the house might not be exactly what you expected, once you wander inside or around back, you usually find something thats surprising or interesting. The process for shooting the smaller images was different in each house, the criteria for what was selected to photograph is not formulaic to the series, but instead each house had its own formula, so it was things that the owners had told me were special, or things that i saw visually appealing, or things that when knowing these people would be very important to them.
